What is simplicity?

Speaker:

Simplicity is often seen as doing less things.

Speaker:

A quote I heard recently defined simplicity as eliminating the unnecessary.

Speaker:

Now, although on the surface, that sort of makes sense.

Speaker:

It's missing a little context.

Speaker:

And I don't think it's entirely accurate.

Speaker:

To me, simplicity is all about having enough.

Speaker:

It's about showing up in a way that's sustainable to you.

Speaker:

It's about making your business fit your brain.

Speaker:

Simplicity is about not too much, but also not too little.

Speaker:

Speaker:

If you have too little it lacks nuance.

Speaker:

And you risk missing the tiny details that can really make a difference in

Speaker:

the day-to-day running of your business.

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

The right amount that fits you.

Speaker:

We are bombarded by hundreds of things each and every day.

Speaker:

So denoting simplicity as less makes a ton of sense.

Speaker:

But sometimes it's less about having less things, but more of the right things

Speaker:

instead of starting from a randomly picked strategy or the advice of the next guru

Speaker:

telling you how you're supposed to work.

Speaker:

Start from you!

Speaker:

Don't want to go out alone.
